I came back to my car after leaving my partner’s place and noticed something was off. My windshield wiper had been broken, and there was $30 tucked under it with a note attached.
The note apologized for spilling coffee on my car and included the cash to cover a wash, signed as a neighbor. But nothing about it made sense there was no sign of coffee damage, and the broken wiper didn’t match what the note was claiming.
It felt like an odd, roundabout way to get my attention instead of just talking to me directly. The whole situation came across as unnecessary and confusing.
Since there was damage to my car, I reported it and am trying to figure out what to do next.
