I walked into my hallway and saw a note taped to my door calling out my apartment number like I’m being publicly shamed.
It was a big handwritten message saying my music at 1AM is too loud because their baby is trying to sleep. Meanwhile, this building has paper-thin walls, and you hear everything from TVs to footsteps to dogs at all hours. But somehow I’m the one getting singled out with a note on the wall.
I took it inside and showed my boyfriend, and we both just laughed. If the walls are really that thin, then they probably heard us laughing about it too.
What gets me is the way it was handled. If you’re going to call someone out, why not just knock and talk about it instead of leaving a note for everyone to see? Now I’m debating whether to respond, because if we’re doing hallway messages, I guess the conversation can go both ways.
