I’m so annoyed right now. This morning I was letting my car warm up in the garage for about ten minutes and completely forgot the garage door was still closed. When I went to back up, I slammed right into it and messed it up pretty badly.

I’m so annoyed right now. This morning I was letting my car warm up in the garage for about ten minutes and completely forgot the garage door was still closed. When I went to back up, I slammed right into it and messed it up pretty badly.

At first it just looked like a dent, so I figured it would be an easy fix. I called a garage door guy, and after barely looking at it he gave me an insanely high quote. He started talking about bent tracks, compromised panels, and said I’d probably need a full replacement.

There’s no way I’m paying that much, so I tried to fix it myself. I started taking the rails and hardware apart, thinking I could straighten everything and put it back together.

Now the whole thing is folded in on itself, parts are everywhere, and the door won’t move at all. What started as a small dent from forgetting the door was closed has turned into a complete disaster, and I’m starting to think that ridiculous quote might actually have been the cheaper option.
