A raccoon broke into an H-E-B in Houston and chewed through the power cable of a Texas Lottery vending machine, causing a big payout—literally.

Security footage from the Westheimer Road store shows the raccoon on top of the machine around 11:48 PM, gnawing the cable. Less than a minute later, the machine malfunctioned and dumped a full tray of $20 scratch-off tickets onto the floor.

A male employee stocking a nearby shelf noticed the tickets and slipped them into his apron pocket before the raccoon made its escape through the store doors. One of the tickets turned out to be a $500 winner.

H-E-B has not commented, and the Texas Lottery confirmed the malfunction is under review. The raccoon was not caught.
